Over the past year, Saturn Metals has emerged as one of the standout success stories in Australia's gold sector. With a market cap that has grown fivefold and several recent capital raises, Saturn has steadily built momentum while remaining focused on execution.

At the centre of that growth is Managing Director Ian Bamborough. Since joining Saturn, Ian has helped guide the evolution of Apollo Hill into one of the largest undeveloped gold projects in Western Australia's Eastern Goldfields. His approach combines technical rigour with a strong emphasis on clear communication with investors.

Below, Ian discusses what he's learned while advancing a major gold asset and how technology has changed the way Saturn tells its story.

5 QUESTIONS WITH AN EXPLORATION LEADER

1. Apollo Hill has become one of the largest underdeveloped gold projects in Western Australia’s Eastern Goldfields. What’s been the most rewarding or surprising part of advancing such a significant asset?

‍

Ian Bamborough: One of the most rewarding aspects of working on Apollo Hill has been seeing the scale and continuity of the system reveal itself over time. Large gold systems like this tend to keep giving you new insights, and each phase of drilling has helped us better understand the geology and refine our view of the project's potential. It's exciting to work on an asset where the opportunity continues to grow as your knowledge grows.

2. How has VRIFY Present changed the way you walk investors through Apollo Hill, whether that’s in a boardroom or on stage?

‍

IB: VRIFY Present brings our data alive in 3D space, while also adding in the dimensions of time and progress into our presentations. Being able to present live geology in 3D really helps to paint a picture of the exploration potential. What I find most valuable is that audiences begin interpreting the geological patterns for themselves in real time. Instead of just telling the story, you're allowing people to see the evidence and visually understand the opportunity.

3. You’ve mentioned how important it is for investors to understand that Saturn’s story is big but achievable. How do you approach communicating that balance between ambition and realism?

‍

IB: For us, it starts with execution. We've always been ambitious about what Apollo Hill could become, but we've worked hard to back that ambition with consistent results. Investors ultimately want to see that a company can deliver on what it says it will do. By setting clear objectives, communicating transparently, and then achieving key milestones, we've built a track record that demonstrates our ambitions are grounded in reality. In many ways, past performance becomes the foundation for future credibility.

4. Can you take us back to your first VRIFY demo, what was your first impression of the platform, and how has your opinion of the platform evolved since actually using it?

‍

IB: My first impression was that the platform looked ‘useful’, but as a junior explorer focused on maximizing every dollar to the drill bit, we were initially cautious about adopting early. At the time, we relied heavily on the 3D visualization capabilities within our existing mining software. My perspective changed after seeing some excellent VRIFY presentations at Beaver Creek a few years ago. Watching experienced users present their exploration strategies with VRIFY Present showed me how effectively the platform could bring a geological story to life for investors. Since then, I've come to appreciate that VRIFY is crucial in bridging the gap between technical data and investor understanding.

5. Saturn’s market cap has grown fivefold in the past year, and you recently raised A$100 million. What do you think has driven that investor confidence?

‍

IB: I think it comes down to a combination of persistence, hard work, strong technical execution, and clear communication. Over the past few years we've consistently advanced Apollo Hill, delivered meaningful results, and communicated our progress openly to the market. Tools like VRIFY Present have also helped us share the project in a way that's accessible and engaging for investors. As Apollo Hill continues its lifecycle, the technical work we've completed has established a strong foundation for future growth. That foundation, combined with a clear vision for where we're headed, has helped build investor confidence.

With Apollo Hill continuing to grow, Ian's focus remains on delivering results and communicating the opportunity clearly. That combination of technical execution and transparency has helped build confidence in Saturn's story, and will continue to guide the company as they advance toward their next phase of growth.

VRIFY Present allows me, and others, to quickly see opportunity in data sets. It is the first tool that has allowed Saturn to truly present the scale of the opportunity at the Apollo Hill deposit and wider Project.
